Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Juan Manuel holds a degree in Orchestral Conducting from the Universidad Nacional de La Plata (Argentina) and a Master of Music in Conducting from Wayne State University (Detroit, Michigan, USA).

He has served as assistant to Maestro Santiago Santero with the Ensamble de Música Contemporánea (Universidad Nacional de las Artes, Argentina) and the Wayne State University Orchestra. He has worked on operas such as T. Hosokawa's The Raven and Santiago Villalba's Don Juan at the Teatro Colón's Experimental Center in Buenos Aires.

In recognition of his achievements during his studies in the U.S.A., he received the Thomas C. Rumble Fellowship, the Robert F. Lawson Endowed Memorial Scholarship, and the Evangeline Dumesnil Scholarship.

Juan Manuel has taken conducting lessons with Maestros Miguel Romea, Luis Gorelik, Kypros Markou, Douglas Bianchi, and Alex Sutton; violin lessons with Dr. Laura Roelofs, Cristina Monasterolo, José Bondar, and Gloria Villa; and piano lessons with Daniela Salinas.

In 2023, he conducted the Orquesta Sinfónica Nacional Argentina as part of the Conducting Workshop led by Maestra Ligia Amadio. In early 2024, he was awarded First Prize at the II Workshop & Competition in Wind Band Conducting organized by the Banda de Música de Getafe. He recently participated in the Besançon International Conducting Competition and will appear as guest conductor with the Wind Bands of Getafe and La Guardia (Toledo). He currently resides in Madrid.
